A few words about me
What I do
I guide travelers who want more than a standard sightseeing route.
Of course, we can visit the famous places: Oia, the blue domes, caldera viewpoints, volcanic beaches, traditional villages, wineries, photo stops and sunset corners. But the real value of a private Santorini tour is how the day is shaped around you.
Some guests want history and myths. Some want photos without feeling rushed. Some arrive by cruise ship and need a smooth plan around tendering, cable car timing and return-to-ship confidence. Some want a quiet village, a local taste, or a route that avoids the most crowded moments of the day.
I listen first, then we shape the experience.
With me, your Santorini private tour is not one fixed script. It is a local, flexible day built around your pace, your curiosity and the real rhythm of the island.
My islander background
Greek island life has shaped the way I see Santorini.
I have lived and worked with the island long enough to understand that Santorini is not only a beautiful view. It is a place of volcanic land, old villages, local families, sea light, wind, traffic patterns, cruise rhythms, traditions, stories and everyday life.
That is the Santorini I like to share.
I love the famous views, but I also love what sits behind them: why a village was built in a certain way, how the volcanic soil changed the island’s food and wine, why small churches appear in unexpected places, what locals notice in the light, the season, the crowds, the roads.
My goal is to give you local insight beyond the postcards, without making the tour feel heavy or academic. You will hear stories, but you will also have time to breathe, look around, take photos and simply enjoy where you are.
My guiding style
Calm, flexible and story-led
Santorini should feel calm, not stressful. That is the heart of how I guide.
I know many visitors arrive with limited time and a long list of things they hope to see. My job is to help you make sense of what is realistic, what is worth it, and what timing will give you the best experience.
On a private tour with me, you can expect:
- Thoughtful timing to help you beat the crowds
- Private tours shaped around your pace, not a fixed group schedule
- A local guidance from inquiry to drop-off, thoughtful from beginning to end.
- Stories that bring the island to life, from myths and history to today’s Santorini
- Photo help along the way, with the right places
- Flexible tour planning for couples, families, cruise guests and short stays
- A calm Santorini experience, even on busy island days
Education and experience
My background combines culture, communication and hospitality, and all three shape the way I guide.
I studied Cultural Technology & Communication at the University of the Aegean and continued with an MSc in Service Management, Hospitality & Tourism at Athens University of Economics and Business.
These studies, together with my genuine interest in history and linguistics, helped me understand how people connect with places, stories and experiences.
I bring more than 12 years of experience in Santorini showing visitors the best of this island with insight, authenticity and care. Over the years, I have worked deeply with Santorini destination services, private experiences, guest planning and local guiding. That means I care about both sides of the tour, the story of the island — its history, myths, villages, volcanic landscape and culture, and the practical comfort of the day — timing, route flow, guest needs, cruise schedules, family pace, weather, traffic, pickup points and smooth communication.
A good Santorini private tour guide should not only know what to say. They should also know when to stop, when to adjust, when to avoid a busy corner, and when to let the view speak for itself.
What you will get on private tour with Aphrodite
For me, guiding starts before we meet.
When you send an inquiry, I want to understand your day: when you arrive, how much time you have, what kind of pace you enjoy, whether you prefer photos, history, food, villages, wine, archaeology, beaches, shopping, or a mix of everything. Then we build a route that fits you.
During the tour, I keep the flow easy and human. I will explain what you are seeing, share stories and local details, help with photos, suggest small adjustments if the island is busier than expected, and make sure you feel comfortable asking questions.
You do not need to know Santorini before you arrive. That is my part. You bring your curiosity. I will help shape the rest.

Yes, where possible. Santorini is a busy island, especially in high season, so no honest guide can promise empty viewpoints. But thoughtful timing, route order and local adjustments can make a big difference.
Not exactly. A private driver tour focuses mainly on transportation. A private guided tour with Aphrodite includes local storytelling, timing, route planning, cultural context and personal guidance from inquiry to drop-off.
