Meet Kostas Boumis
Your Santorini private guide with Santoriginal Tours
Smart routes, local insight and comfortable pacing for your group
Hi, I’m Kostas — the “Local Pilot” at Santoriginal Tours.
I guide private tours in Santorini for travelers who want the island to feel exciting, not exhausting. That might mean a family with children, a mixed-age group, cruise passengers with limited time, or travelers who simply want someone local to handle the route, the timing and the practical details while they enjoy the island.
I like days that make sense. Good route. Good timing. Good company. A few laughs along the way. And yes, of course, the views too. Santorini is much nicer when someone local is paying attention to the details.
With me, you will not just be my guests. You will feel more like friends going out for the day, discovering Santorini with someone who knows the roads, the views, the good stops and the places worth your time.

My Recent Reviews
A few words about me
What I do
I do not believe a good Santorini day should feel like a race. We can absolutely see the famous places. We can also avoid turning the whole day into a photo queue with unnecessary stress and very expensive gelato somewhere you did not even want to stop.
My style is simple: listen first, plan smart, keep the pace comfortable, and make sure the route fits the people in front of me.
Some guests want the classic highlights. Some want more history. Some want a good lunch by the sea. Some want help with photos. Some want all of that, but in a way that still leaves them feeling human at the end.
Fair enough. That is exactly why private guiding works so well in Santorini.
I like routes that run smoothly, timing that saves your energy, and tours that feel personal without becoming chaotic. It is not just about driving you around. It is about helping you enjoy Santorini in a way that actually suits your day.
About my tours
I like a plan, but I am not married to one. If the island is busier than expected, we adjust. If your group wants a slower stop somewhere beautiful, we can do that. If the children need a break, or the grandparents would rather skip an unnecessary uphill walk, that is useful information; not a problem.
I guide many families, big families and groups of friends. My Sprinter van helps everyone stay together in one vehicle, which makes the day easier and more fun.
You can expect clear communication, good timing, local stories, history when you want it, photo stops that make sense, and a route that fits your group instead of a fixed checklist.
And yes, humor is included. No extra charge.
What guests can expect
Easy for the whole group
Santorini can be busy, especially on cruise days. My job is to keep the route clear, the pace comfortable and the day enjoyable for everyone in the vehicle.
On a private tour with me, you can expect:
- Smart timing to help you avoid the worst crowd pressure where possible
- One comfortable vehicle for families, multi-gen groups and groups of friends
- A route that works for all ages from children to grandparents
- Local stories and traditions without making the day feel like school
- Practical cruise planning around tender timing, cable car flow and return-to-ship confidence
- Good photo stops with time to enjoy the place, not just jump out and rush
- A relaxed mood because a good Santorini day should feel easy
What you will get on private tour with Kostas
A private tour with Kostas is for travelers who want the island to feel easier, more personal and better paced. That usually means:
- A route that fits your time, not the other way around
- Everyone together in one comfortable Sprinter van, up to 16 guests
- Good timing around crowds, traffic and cruise realities
- Flexible stops for families, children, grandparents and groups of friends
- Local stories, traditions and real island life
- Photo stops that are actually worth it
- A guide who keeps the day calm, clear and easy to follow
Families and larger groups
Kostas is a strong fit for families, multi-gen groups and groups of friends because his tour is not built around one type of traveler.
Some guests want history. Some want a village walk, local stories and urban legends. Some want an archaeological stop or a winery visit. Teenagers usually want good photo places and not too much talking. Younger children want a beach stop. Grandparents need comfort and smart pacing.
That is where Kostas works especially well. He knows how to keep the route interesting for different ages without making the day feel messy or rushed. With his Sprinter van, families and groups can stay together in one comfortable vehicle, and the plan can adjust as the day unfolds.
The point is not to make everyone follow the same rigid plan. The point is to shape a day that keeps the highlights, keeps the comfort, and keeps everyone roughly happy by lunchtime.
That last part matters.
Cruise passengers
For cruise passengers, Kostas does not treat the start time like a fixed clock you must suffer to follow.
He plans around your real cruise day: tender timing, sailing time, cable car flow, port arrangements, traffic and how busy the island is that day. If your ship, cruise line or private arrangement uses a different pickup point, we check what works best. Depending on the case, pickup may be from the cable car area, a cruise shuttle point, Athinios Port, or even a private boat/charter arrangement.
During the tour, Kostas keeps an eye on the time without making the day feel rushed. He knows when to move, when to stop, and when it is time to gather everyone back to the van so the return stays smooth.
That is the practical side of a good private shore excursion in Santorini: not only seeing the island, but getting the whole group back calmly and on time.
